The Fitzroy River is the lifeline of the Kimberley and features in creation stories of the Nyikina and other groups.

The Fitzroy River connects a number of Australian Aboriginal cultures. Madjulla Inc is concerned with the social and cultural wellbeing of all the cultural groups. Madjulla shows its commitment through participation in programs addressing the needs of youth and promoting justice and family harmony.

Madjulla Inc strongly supports the efforts of Nyikina people from the Fitzroy River to preserve and maintain their unique language and culture.
